And so I take my first few tentative steps into the first entry of my new blog.
It's always a little awkward to discern what is needed and wanted of you in a new post. Should you tell your future readers about yourself? Or should you just jump in as if you've always been there?
I don't really know the answer so I will do a bit of both and, hopefully, one will help the other along.
My name is Charlotte and I'm 19, very nearly 20, years of age. I decided to make this blog because I was looking around the world wide web for something that really interested me; I was looking for a blog that embodied everything I'm about, something I could really relate to and enjoy. But I didn't find it. So I decided to make one myself.
I am unbelievably changeable when it comes to my tastes in music, fashion, culture, life in general. So what I hope to do in this blog is chronicle these changes in the hope that I reach out to someone just like me who is browsing the internet looking for something interesting, just like I was.
A little bit more about me is needed, I suppose. Aside from being on the verge of turning twenty (yes, I am a little obsessed about it. It is both scary and exciting at the same time.) I'm a university student. One of my current enjoyments is rolling around charity shops in the hope of finding a bargain, so I hope to be sharing some of my finds on here!
I love teapots, vintage clothes, clothes in general, handbags, anything with owls on and shoes.
Indie music is something I'm rather heavily into at the moment, although my music tastes change as much as the English weather, so there you go.
Ahh, I really just want to get my opening post over with because it feels awkward. But what I'll do is show you guys a couple of things I'm into at the moment.
My current quest is to find two stunning outfits for my twentieth birthday! My birthday is happening on the 9th September but I'm having a tea party at home with old friends on the 3rd and then having a university friends party on the 9th.
My tea party outfit needs to be Alice in Wonderland-esque, sort of retro tea dress. I am what you might call a 'larger lady' although why that should matter I haven't the slightest but, alas, it does. I'm planning a trip to London in which I'm going to scope out all the cool vintage shops and find myself something pretty.
My actual birthday outfit has to be knock out. You guessed it, there is a guy involved. I've lost a bit of weight over the summer and I just want to knock him for six. I've seen a dress at Miss Selfridges I like here.
They only go up to size 16 but I'm hoping since I've lost weight I'll be able to fit into it. Fingers crossed. I'll keep you posted anyway and pictures to come if it looks stunning. But of course I'd have to find an awesome pair of shoes, too.
I'm a little gutted the plus size Ruby Belle range has disappeared from the Evans website.
They had some gorgeous dresses on there and Evans always seems to lack a little bit in flattering dresses. I'm not ashamed of being bigger but I do know that I will be glad to be smaller than a size 16; shopping will be so much easier and less frustrating! I do embrace my size, though and try and dress as nicely as possible and who knows you might get a few pictures when I'm feeling good.
Anyhow, more posts to come but I shan't bother you any longer.
So long and goodnight, lovelies.
